How to Recreate Nicola Peltz Beckham’s Siren Eyes for Your Next Night Out

On Friday night, Nicola Peltz Beckham arrived at the W Magazine party for its 2023 Best Performances issue rocking sultry siren eyes, velvety matte skin and a classic nude lip combo. Below, Peltz Beckham’s makeup artist, Kendal Fedail, breaks down how to get the look, using all YSL Beauty products.

The Eyes

“Nicola and I wanted a makeup look that would accentuate and draw attention to her eyes. She wore a beautiful brown vintage dress, so we wanted to stick to chocolate/neutral tones that would really make her green eyes pop,” says Fedail. Starting with the YSL Beauty Crushliner, she lined Peltz Beckham’s upper and lower lash lines, including the tightline.

“Tightlining gives the appearance of a thicker lash line, and it’s best to use either a longwear or waterproof liner so that the color stays put,” says Fedail. To tightline the top lashes, she recommends using a finger to gently lift the upper lid and look down as you trace the inner lash line with eyeliner. For the bottom, carefully pull the area beneath your lower lashes and look up as you apply the liner.

Next, she blended the brown and tan shadows in the Couture Clutch Eyeshadow Palette across Peltz Beckham’s lids and outer corners, winging the colors out to create “an elongated cat-eye shape.” She followed with Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara in Black on Peltz Beckham’s top lashes and Brown on her lower lashes for a softer effect. 

The Face

For soft matte skin that looked filtered IRL, Fedail primed the skin with the Touche Éclat Blur Primer. She then evened out Peltz Beckham’s skin with the All Hours Foundation, using a makeup sponge for natural-looking coverage. To brighten and correct any darkness, Fedail applied the Touche Éclat All-Over Brightening Pen under the celebrity’s eyes. 

“To bring back color in her cheeks, I applied the Lip & Cheek Balm in the shade Pinch, which is more of a peachy shade so it blended naturally on her fair skin,” says Fedail. The key to Peltz Beckham’s natural-looking flush, Fedail says, was to squeeze a small amount of the lip and cheek balm onto the back of her hand, tap a fluffy blush brush into the color, then dab off any excess product on a clean part of her hand before applying to the apples of the cheeks and blending toward the hairline using stippling motions. “Nicola also likes to take her blush closer in on her cheeks and over the bridge of her nose for a sun-kissed look,” she adds. “From there, I go back into the product on the back of my hand and add color as needed. It’s better to start light and add as you go then apply a heavy amount of product all at once.”

The Brows

“I achieve brushed-up brows on Nicola by taking a small mascara spoolie with wax or brow gel and brushing the brows upward and out with the wand,” says Fedail. To ensure that her brows stayed put, Fedail pressed the stick end of the wand against the brows and pushed them up and into the skin. 

The Lips

Fedail and Peltz Beckham wanted a lip that was “hydrating and natural” to complement the smokiness of the eye makeup. “Nicola’s nude lip combo is a base of the YSL Beauty Candy Glaze in shade 2, which is very sheer and hydrating, and an added layer of the Rouge Volupté shine in shade 150, which has a slight touch of pinky nude,” says Fedail. “It added a bit of natural color so that her lips didn’t appear washed out.”
