Alert: You Need to See Mandy Moore’s Chic New Bob Hairstyle
March 07, 2019To stay well-informed on what our favorite celebrities are up to, we follow their makeup artists and hairstylists religiously on Instagram. Doing so gives us a inside look at red carpet events, a sneak peek at the makeup products they love and a glimpse into what their personality is like in real life. One expert we follow on the ’gram is Ashley Streicher, Garnier Consulting Hairstylist and Mandy Moore’s go-to girl. While scrolling through our feed early this afternoon, we came across a photo of Moore sporting a chic bob that was so pretty, we saved it for inspo immediately.
On a recent campaign shoot, Moore tested Garnier’s new Shade Selector Tool that lets you virtually try on personalized hair colors. Her suggested result was Nutrisse Shade 53, which she went for, adding in the fun bob hairstyle to complement her new shade. Ahead, find out how to style the look (and to cut it, if that’s your objective), according to Streicher herself.
STEP 1: Prep your hair by washing with Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Shampoo followed by Pure Clean Conditioner. Pat hair dry and then apply Pure Clean Air Dry + Detangler to damp hair.
STEP 2: Part hair down the middle and then comb it straight through. Beginning at the nape of your neck, comb hair evenly on each side in clean sections and then cut hair straight across from the center. Your hair will get ever-so-slightly longer toward the front.
STEP 3: Comb hair in front of the ears slightly back and cut straight towards the back of the head.
STEP 4: Comb hair down, so that it falls naturally and then cut straight towards the face, allowing the hair to be slightly longer toward the front.
STEP 5: Apply a pea size amount of Style Smooth Blow Dry evenly throughout damp hair and blow dry with a round brush for volume.
STEP 6: Finish the cut by going through dry, natural hair and cutting small pieces in vertical sections. This will give the haircut more movement for a textured and volumized shape.
STEP 7: Finish the look by applying Fructis Style Root Amp to your roots and a light spray of Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Hairspray.
