Go Glam This NYE With an Icy Cut Crease You Can Create in 5 Easy Steps
December 21, 2021If you want to ring in 2022 with a majorly glam look, let us introduce you to this icy halo eye look. We love how it feels a little Y2K-inspired with its smoky-silver finish, but has the modern cut crease element. With just a little technique and a whole lot of glitter, makeup artist Jonet Williamson shows us just how easy it is to recreate this look below.
-
STEP 1:
Create Your Crease
Start by applying a curved line just above the crease using a black eyeshadow to figure out the placement of the liner. Then, use a black pencil or gel eyeliner (our favorite is the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Smoke Liner in Black Smoke) on top to define the line.
-
STEP 2:
Add Your Sparkle
Apply the deep silver glitter from the NYX Professional Makeup Gimme Super Stars! Color Palette in Kissin’ My Stars over the line, concentrating the shade at the inner corner and blending out towards the outer corner.
-
STEP 3:
Smoke It Out
For an ombré effect, add some of the lighter silver glitter from the same Gimme Super Stars! palette at the inner corner and blend down towards the lid.
-
STEP 4:
Define the Eye
Add a thin swipe of eyeliner (the Epic Smoke Liner works for this too) on the upper lash line with a wing at the end.
-
STEP 5:
Glam It Up and Complete the Look
Add rhinestones at the center of the lower lash line and at the outer corner with lash glue. Next, curl your lashes and apply a volumizing mascara like the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Noir Balm Mascara. Complete the look with a little more glitter by topping your lips with the NYX Professional Makeup Gimme Super Stars! Plumping Lip Topper in Purrl, Please!.
