How to the Get the Alice + Olivia NYFW SS20 Makeup Look That’s Perfect for Spring
March 13, 2020While walking through all the backstage makeup mayhem, I couldn't help but fall head-over-heels in love with the Alice and Olivia look for the SS20 show. The incredibly talented Erin Parsons, Maybelline New York Global Makeup Artist, took her inspo from the sorbet-colored sets from the new clothing collection. The best part? She used entirely drugstore products to create the look. Shout out to 15-year-old me who would be so happy at this revelation.
“The collection was inspired by rich Bohemia, so I added a pop of pastels to the eyes,” Parsons says. The show was set up with different rooms that each had a totally different vibe and color scheme. Parsons matched the model’s eyelids to the mint, pink, peach, powder blue, orange, lemon, white and lilac rooms using only Maybelline New York products. Despite all the bright hues, I was shocked by how wearable this makeup look seemed for everyday use. So, I decided to try it out for myself. Read on for the full tutorial.
STEP 2: I followed up with the Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer to cover up any dark circles and fine lines.
STEP 3: To eliminate any excess shine and set my base, I used the Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder in Translucent.
STEP 4: To create the perfect lavender shade, which was my favorite of all the colors, I mixed the Color Tattoo Up To 24HR Longwear Cream Eyeshadow Makeup in Chill Girl with Grape Pop from the Soda Pop Eyeshadow Palette. Pro tip: Parsons says you can mix Chill Girl with any eyeshadow to create your own customized creamy eyeshadow color.
STEP 5: I lightly coated my top lashes in the Volum' Express The Colossal Washable Mascara in Glam Black.
STEP 6: For my lips, all I needed was the Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm in Quenched along with a tap of blush to add a subtle hint of color.
STEP 7: Last but not least, I finished off the look with the FaceStudio Lasting Fix Makeup Setting Spray to ensure it would stay on all day long.
